About Us

The Center for Media Intelligence and Strategic Studies (CenMISS) is an independent, nonpartisan research institute dedicated to advancing public understanding of how media, technology, and information infrastructures shape civic life in a rapidly changing world. We study the systems that determine who has access to information, how knowledge is formed, and how digital environments influence democratic participationu2014especially in emerging markets and fragile states across Africa and the Global South.nnCenMISS was founded to fill a critical gap: while global information systems are transforming societies, the communities most affected by instability, weak infrastructure, and limited media capacity are often the least studied. Our work brings rigorous, evidence-based research to these contexts, illuminating how information flows, media ecosystems, and technological change impact public knowledge and civic resilience.nn**Incorporated in Washington, D.C., CenMISS is currently in its foundational stage.**
